This map has been an on going project. I had the idea after I was about half way through an etching course and it occurred to me the quality created by etching could really suit a map. Unfortunately I forgot about the most important rule of printing; whatever you do will be reversed when printed! I got so into drawing it that this simple fact slipped my mind and when I finally realised, moments before actually printing it, i felt so disheartened by my stupidity that I put it to one side. A year later I came back to it and realised I could just flip it on the computer and add some of colour.
